Well, we had our first real crying/screaming episode. I fed him at 11pm and woke at 1pm because he was starting to make noises. I was half asleep. By the time I got the diaper changed he was full out screaming. I was half asleep still and laughing, like oh my god, what is going on? Nicolas got up to help of course. He really seemed like he was screaming in his sleep - he calmed down when I started to get him into feeding position. I don't remember when this was. Last week sometime I guess.
We weighed him tonight and 2 nights ago. He was 8 pounds 15 ounces, 2 days ago. Tonight he was 9 pounds 2 ounces.
Breastfeeding:
Well, still a challenge, but getting better - well, ups and downs. It seems to get better and then we have a clamping down incident and it takes me back to being very sore and hurting. It's also a challenge to get up at night to feed him. Since Nicolas is back at work I take the night shifts as well. I'm trying to get naps during the day. The nights where he just eats and goes back to sleep are great. The nights that he stays up for hours and doesn't go back to sleep but fusses are not fun. I'm going to call a lactation consultant to work on the latch issues (and pain). Don't get me wrong, it's a world of difference from the first week but I want it to become a better experience and a happier event.
So sorry! I forgot to publish this one! It's been a whole week!
