oops, it's been a month

So the last post was titled busy busy busy and here we are a month later and I'm thinking the same thing.  This will probably jump all over the place but I just want to get the post up :)

Luc weighs 13 pounds and 9 ounces or something.  His next doctor visit is September 9th. He will be 6 months then!!

He rolled over onto his tummy!!! ( 8/23)  He was on his back and a few moments later I looked over and he was on his stomach leaning on his arms and grinning real big.   He loves to stand and can push himself up to standing if you are holding his hands and give him a little tug. He's not sitting by himself but we let him practice balancing so we think he will soon be sitting on his own. He likes to jump on your lap if you are holding him.  I got several little bruises from luc's big toes from him jumping in my lap.

Nicolas's family was here and we went on a vacation. Or should I say trip instead. We were very active and had a great time!!  Of the many things we did, we enjoyed taking Luc to the pool the most :)  He's so freaking cute.

Luc loved meeting his cousins!  He met Robin (almost 2) and Elisa (8).  They loved him and he loved them.  They would all sit in a chair and pose for pictures :)  Robin liked laying on his play mat with him and they just liked laughing at each other.  It was great fun:)

Breastfeeding update:  With all the travelling and with family here I was pumping more and Luc was not eating as regularly so I have been getting clogged ducts. Fortunately, no infection, just clogs that hurt and it takes a day or two of having him feed more on the one side to get the clog out.  Travelling and breastfeeding is just a thing unto itself.  I fed him in many different places and environments and I can say my favorite place to nurse is in his room sitting in the glider with no one in the room! He gets very distracted when other people are around.  We nursed in some very interesting places and ways which include in a front carrier walking down the street in Savannah, in some SC gas station in the knick knack and fireworks section standing while waiting out a very fast and strong storm, in many restaurants, at the beach while both of the beach umbrellas decided to blow away and everyone else was in the water... and of course in the car.  I'm sure there are more strange examples that I am forgetting. The first part of the trip he hardly ate so I ended up pumping in the car while Nicolas drove.

Luc started real food!!!  We have not cut out any of his current breastfeeding meals.  We have just started feeding him sweet potatoes either at lunch time or before we eat dinner. He's still getting used to the whole process of 'eating'.  The first time I guess I thought he would just end up pushing the food out of his mouth, but I soon realized most of each spoonful was going down!  He was eating!  We are so proud :)

Poop update:  Luc has started pooping more often.  Gone are the weeks with no poop. Now, it's a few days at the most.  Oh, and he's also pooping sweet potatoes which is not too bad :)

Luc slept through his first earthquake.  I never thought I would say that in North Carolina.  Hopefully, Irene won't come too close as his first hurricane.

He isn't as grabby after a few days of doing the eating thing.  Watching the video was a surprise because he was so grabby!

Here is a link to Luc in the bouncing thingy.  Today is the first day he's really stayed in it. He's a little too short still and the seat is a little wide but he's having a great time :)
