Standing up

Our little boy is growing up so fast!  Today he stood up by himself (without holding onto anything). We think he's done this before but today was the first time we've seen it.  He did it once, then did it again. both times 'showing' us.  It was great!  I cheered and clapped and Nico had a big grin on his face.  Luc looked like ha, I did it and put his hands in the air.  He was super cute in his transformer pajamas.

He seems to be thinking about walking.  He stands there and looks at something close that he wants to get to and instead of dropping down to crawl, he just looks frustrated/thinking and like he wants to walk to it but is not sure how. I have seen him move his foot a little when standing but not an actual step, more like a shuffle.

This last week he has really started 'talking' a lot.  All kinds of sounds are coming out of his mouth, most commonly ah, ah, ah, and what we think is 'hey' when he wants our attention. He's started babbling and experimenting with other sounds.  I was saying what to him and he said 'ut'.  his other sounds are like ick, and ot, and ghe, and I don't know what else.

I finally organized all his clothes into containers and am finishing packing up his 9 month clothes.  He's now in all 12 month things, pants still being loose because he's so skinny.  some shirts are 12-18 months already but they do look a little big :)  It's so crazy!  It's weird to put all of his clothes into boxes labeled newborn, 0-3 months, etc. the newborn box is like a shoebox size the others are way bigger. It's like remembering his life by which clothes he was wearing.

Yesterday, Nico gave him some number 3 baby food (with soft chunks in it) and he did fine with it!  No throwing up!  So he may really be moving on!  Yay!  (Just in time to eat bday cake!! ) I'm experimenting with a no dairy cake since we are not sure if he's truly allergic or not we will avoid it for a little while longer.

I miss Dominic so much.  I really really wish he was here to see all of this. I know Luc would have made him so happy.  And I'm sad for Luc that he didn't have a chance to know Dominic. sniffle.
